Arrangements Underway for OMR-Based Panchayat Secretary Examinations in Kashmir
Srinagar, Kashmir – The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) is gearing up to conduct OMR-based examinations for the post of Panchayat Secretary in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
With approximately 91,412 candidates expected to appear in Kashmir Division, meticulous preparations are underway to ensure a smooth examination process.
In a recent development, a committee has been constituted in each district, comprising the following officers, under the overall supervision of the Deputy Commissioner:
- – Additional Deputy Commissioner
- – Programme Officer, ICDS
- – Chief Education Officer
- – Any other officer nominated by the concerned Deputy Commissioner (the senior of the ADCs if there are more than one in the district)
The committee’s primary responsibility is to determine suitable examination centers for the upcoming OMR-based examinations.
To achieve this, they will consult various examination institutions to evaluate their seating capacity and overall accessibility.
Only centers with adequate infrastructure and a positive reputation will be considered for hosting the examinations, while those with adverse track records will be excluded.
Furthermore, the committee will conduct on-site assessments to ascertain the readiness of the selected centers. Key aspects that will be evaluated include the condition of rooms, availability of furniture (desks), lighting conditions, and essential facilities like drinking water and washrooms.
The seating capacity of each center will be determined following a structured matrix, ensuring optimal space utilization.
To ensure the smooth operation of the examinations, the committees will also confirm the availability of sufficient staff at the selected institutions. Adequate staff is essential to assist in managing the examination process effectively.
The district-wise counts of candidates scheduled to appear in the examinations are as follows:
- – Anantnag: 16,033 candidates
- – Bandipora: 5,405 candidates
- – Baramulla: 14,878 candidates
- – Budgam: 10,339 candidates
- – Ganderbal: 4,380 candidates
- – Kulgam: 9,269 candidates
- – Kupwara: 11,962 candidates
- – Pulwama: 9,766 candidates
- – Shopian: 5,382 candidates
- – Srinagar: 3,998 candidates
